The day is February 8, 2026, and the anticipation for the Bad Bunny concert is THICK. So, I need to get my taxes done in record time. So, let’s see how this plays out…
The tax firm I work with uses a platform called TaxDome; I could not recommend it more highly. It’s easy to log in, the UX is slick, and it keeps me on track by guiding me through page by page. Love not being overwhelmed in tax prep.
Okay–let’s get started. Here is my process as a Single Member Limited Liability Corporation (LLC). This is my process as a solopreneur who didn't pay any contractors cash in 2025, which meant no 1099-NEC forms to track down.
Getting Organized
Physical Items
I sift through the pile of mail, searching for any tax documents. One piece, from my bank account. I was expecting a 1099, but I’ll just have to file without it this year. I scan that into my digital 2025 Tax folder.
I find any paper receipts still lying around–in my purse, backpack, or on my desk–and take a photo of those and store them in the appropriate place (Wave or Google Drive, depending). I only had three of those milling about this year. Please clap.
Digital Items
Off to log in to my High Yield Savings account to download my 1099-INT for the interest earned this year. Not a ton, but quadruple what my regular savings account earned. Not too shabby! I saved that to my digital 2025 Tax folder.
Then, to wrangle up my charitable contributions. I keep these in my Intuit It’s Deductible account. I track monetary and clothing donations throughout the year, so this is just a quick press of a button. Then–you guessed it–save that to the 2025 Tax folder.
We use a Health Savings Account (HSA) to cover medical expenses, so I have to gather all that data too. A quick upload of our 1099-SA & 5498-SA and on to the next!
Software Platforms
I open my personal spending plan software and download all the non-business account pieces that I’ll need: rent, utilities, phone, and internet.
Quick side note: I don’t pay these items with my business account (since only a percentage can be deducted), so they won’t appear on my Profit & Loss statement.
Next up is my business accounting software (I use Wave). Sign in. Authenticate. Click Reports. Click Profit & Loss. Set the date to 2025. Save. 2.5 minutes. Boom.
Travel
One: Total up my driven mileage.
Pro Tip: Add a reminder for December 31 to check your odometer.
Two: Document in TaxDome how many nights out of town and grabbed the M&IE (Meals & Incidentals) rates for each. All my other travel expenses are in my P&L.
All documents were uploaded to TaxDome. Hit Submit. Check the stopwatch!
Here’s how long it took me...

2 hours & 10 minutes.
This kind of ease doesn't happen by accident—it's the result of systems I've built over the years. What’s that phrase… “You don’t have to get ready if you stay ready.”
If you want to stay financially ready, send me a DM or book a 15-minute chemistry chat.
